You unlock expeditions when you upgrade the Guild (building) to lvl. 2. To start an expedition you first need to craft a map from map fragments and for a minimal amount of Coins (see the table below). To craft a map, tap map fragments on expedition screen. Once you've crafted a map you can mount an expedition (by clicking on it) which comes at a greater cost (see the table below). After you complete an expedition you will get some guaranteed rewards, guaranteed amount of experience and a chance (60%) of finding an artifact. You are not guaranteed to get an artifact every time you complete an expedition, and you are not guaranteed to a different artifact each time. You will routinely get an artifact more than once. Excess artifacts do not bring any extra bonuses, but they can be sold in the Shop or used for trading in the Caravan. There are also skills which you can learn, which help you with expeditions (see Haruka - skills).

Haruka - skills

Haruka skills (sometimes also called expedition skills) are skills, which Haruka can learn in order to be a better navigator (i.e. you'll be able to craft higher level Treasure maps and get more loot). These skills can be fairly quickly learned by getting a lot of Coffee beans from watching ads in Bourse. Below are listed all Haruka - skills with levels, costs and in-game descriptions.

  • Navigator (1/1)
    • Cost: none.

Notes to the table above:

  • Navigator and Cartographer lvl. 1 automatically unlock when you unlock Expedition (Guild lvl. 2).
  • Cartographer levels define which level of Treasure maps you can craft (Cartographer lvl. 2 allows you to craft Treasure maps lvl. 1 and lvl. 2).
  • Initiative - Treasure map fragments can be collected in the Expedition tab and, since patch 15.2, in Office or in Territory (above the Guild building).
    • Up to patch 15.2, Treasure map fragments couldn't be collected if warehouse was full. Now, excess fragments are converted to 10 experience points each.
  • Economist - reduces the amount of items needed to mount any expedition.
  • Some more coffee! - increases the amount of Coffee beans you get from expeditions by 25%.

Expedition rewards

By completing an expedition, you can get loot. Explanation of this table: [15 or 20 (18 or 24)] under Wood for lvl. 1 expedition means that every time you complete a lvl. 1 expedition you get either 15 or 20 Wood (not something in between). Numbers in the parentheses indicate the same number plus an extra 20% which the Hannya mask artifact gives. The "-" between two numbers means that you can get that item from the first number to the second number (example: 4-7 fragments, means you can get from 4, 5, 6 or 7 fragments). You always get Wood, Stone, Coffee beans and map fragments (only for lvl. 1 and lvl. 2 expeditions).

This table only shows the average number for rewards you get from expeditions without artifacts or any other bonuses. All 5 lvl. 4 expeditions were from Smuggler's maps. The table was last updated on: 15 January 2022.

If you want to help with the table, message me at urbanpy@gmail.com and I will send you an invite. Everything is automated, you only have to put in your expedition rewards.

Expedition progress

Every expedition has a progress bar, which shows how many puzzles you have solved in that section (e.g. in section Solve: Colored Nonograms) - the empty squares, which get colored green after after puzzles get solved. Sometimes the squares don't get fully colored, because you have solved a bigger puzzle. You can get 1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. to a maximum of 4 puzzles solved. The exact formula for how much a puzzle is worth is unknown. It's recommended to solve the bare minimum of the required puzzle, to not waste time and effort (e.g. if it requires 10x10 nonograms, solve only 10x10 nonograms).

There is also a progress bar, which shows the progress of the entire expedition, but it's more subtle. This progress bar is the map beside Haruka. It has 11 empty circles, which get colored after a certain amount of puzzles has been solved, and a cross at the end. Because every expedition level requires different amounts puzzles to be solved, circles get colored by different milestones.

Haruka

Haruka Matsumoto is your navigator on expeditions. She navigates you through expeditions by counting how many puzzles you have solved and which ones. She also crafts maps and finds Treasure map fragments lvl. 1 (depends on which skills she has learnt). She has some quotes, which she says after a certain event:

Haruka nonogram

Haruka (Haruka the Navigator) by Draco Machination. Size: 45x80. Type: mosaic. Categories: Video Games, Pixel Art and People, Portraits, Celebrities.

  • Hi! I'm Haruka Matsumoto. I will be your navigator on expeditions.
To start the expedition, we will need a treasure map and equipment.
  • Hello! or How's it going?
    • After you finish an expedition and come into the Expedition tab (i.e. whenever there is no ongoing expedition).
  • This is my favorite part!
    • After you craft (she crafts) a map.
  • The expedition started!
    • After you start an expedition lvl. 1, lvl. 2 or lvl. 3.
  • Sea voyage!
    • After you start an expedition lvl. 4 (or a Smuggler's map expedition).
  • Hope this helps.
    • After collecting the daily Map fragment(s) lvl. 1 from the Expedition tab, but only if there is no ongoing expedition.
  • That way it will go faster!
  • I feel that we are on the right track.
  • It's so beautiful! Thank you!

Trivia

The map beside Haruka has "_ A R I S M E D I T E R R P A R S" written in the middle, which is probably part of "MARIS MEDITERRANEA PARS", meaning "Mediterranean Sea Region". At the top "G R" is written, which might part of "GREECE". This would also mean that Egypt represents the bottom part of the land. This map is an "archaic" map, which means that it's not accurate and it doesn't reflect the actual coastline.
